Chinese Crane Silk Scroll #42
Scroll Size: approx. 37" x 12" (94cm x 30.5cm)
1) A traditional style of Asian painting first popularized during the Tang Dynasty (618-907). The design of the actual scroll is quite complex with delicate silk being carefully mounted on a silk brocade backer. The scroll has a wood dowel at the base and a cord at the top for hanging. Packaged in a protective sturdy gift box.
2) In Asia, cranes symbolize long life and fidelity and are often depicted as a pair. In China, it is thought that the remarkable fluidity and precise movements of cranes inspired various styles of martial arts – including Kung Fu.
