In 1978, the State Bureau approved JiuZhaiGou as National Nature Preservation Zone. In 1992, UNESCO classified JiuZhaiGou into the Famous Index of Heritage of Natural Culture of the World. In 1997, JiuZhaiGou was designated as the Biosphere Preservation Zone of the World by UN. It is the only scenery in the world, which is obtaining two international reputations simultaneously.
